NYSC reports that one missing corps member has been rescued.

One of the seven female potential corps members kidnapped in Zamfara has reportedly been freed, according to the National Youth Service Corps administration.

This was disclosed on Saturday in a news release that NYSC Spokesperson Eddy Megwa signed.

The statement claims that the aforementioned female corps member was saved on Friday at 12:30 p.m. “with the assistance of security agencies,” and it expresses hope that the remaining abducted corps members will be freed.

Part of the announcement says, “Management of the National Youth Service Corps wishes to convey to the general public that the scheme, with the assistance of security agencies, secured the release of one of the female Prospective Corps Members on Friday, October 20, 2023, at about 12.30 pm.”
