Athan Achonu, the Labour Party’s nominee for Imo State governor, has stated that he is running for office because he is willing to serve the people and that current governor Hope Uzodimma cannot afford to buy him, even with $100 million. Achonu’s remarks are relevant to the upcoming November 11 gubernatorial race, and he downplayed reports of being a cheap buy while serving as a stand-in.
“The people of Imo State already know the truth,” the politician declared. They have me trailed. In what way may I serve as Hope Uzodimma’s stand-in? Give me a million dollars. That isn’t achievable.
“I have traveled throughout this nation. I have a large following. That is true for me personally. I am therefore well-known in this nation. I’m a trustworthy dude. I hope Uzodimma will not be able to purchase me $100 million. It isn’t achievable. You can’t purchase me. Money cannot purchase me.
If he left the inhabitants of the state behind, he claimed they would have nowhere to go.
The LP candidate for governor continued, saying that the Igbo people have been driven from their homeland and that he intends to bring them back.
